About Us

The Wongenbergs traveled through South America for one year, starting in February 2014 and ending in January 2015. They embarked on another long-term travel sabbatical in October of 2022.

Craig is a civil engineer who spent the last eight years working on bicycle design. He believes that bicycle travel can be safe, fun, and healthy! Plus, you can experience a larger area of a city at near-pedestrian speed when pedaling. Craig also likes to read (especially anything Sebaldian), cook, hike, play tennis, cross-country ski, and spend time with Sheena.

Sheena is a nurse who works in community health because she believes in social justice and healthcare equity. She is liberal AF (don’t say we didn’t warn you when she goes off on some anti-capitalist, anti-racism rant!). She likes to knit, quilt, play the guitar and ukulele, and read romance, mystery, and nonfiction books. She likes to eat, cook, bake, do yoga, play tennis, and spend time with friends. She also likes taking trips with Craig.

Here Sheena is on one of those trips with Craig that she enjoyed so much.

The Wongenbergs hail from Seattle, Washington.
